Hi, i’m Jenny!
A 2014 graduate of The Salon Professional Academy, my passion was ignited for hair color and the execution of a complete look complimented by functional and expressive haircuts during this pivotal year of cosmetology education. I took in as much practical experience as was offered and had a curious mind in regard to color correction which was nurtured by my educators. Graduating with high marks and my first job lined up, I jumped right behind the chair. Less than a year after being licensed, and a truly mind-opening trip to NYC, I aggressively pursued taking the next step in my career by leaving the suburbs for the city of Chicago. I spent the next 4 years absorbing the creativity and vision of my fellow stylists and crafting my personal identity as a hair artist.
Furthering my experience, education, professional mentors, and another inspiring trip, this time to LA, solidified my path to independent entrepreneurial hair styling. JMIZHAIR was born.
As an individual that often struggled with my own hair and the intimidating salon experience, I strive to make your experience collaborative and devoid of intimidation. I draw a lot from my 40 years of life before becoming a stylist. My approach is that of someone who has lived in that quest for happy hair that expresses who I am from day to day. Servicing a clientele of all ages and offering gender-affirming solutions, I meet everyone where they’re at and strive to communicate from a place of empathy to help you achieve your hair goals from healthy long hair to short vibrant creative color.
Down-to-earth sensibilities yet an over-the-top sense of humor will creep into your time with me. My gift lies in figuring out the things you’ve always tried to say in somebody’s chair but maybe weren’t heard until you met me! You’re invited to come in, connect and let go. Give your goals, dreams, and identity words, and I will give them life!

“My hair journey with Jenny started in 2017! I was 25 and had never dyed my hair, so naturally, I chose to dye my whole head purple!
Jenny and I met for a consultation where we talked about different inspirations, color options, and what level of upkeep was needed. She was very helpful (as I had never dyed my hair before and didn’t know a lot then) and I felt I could trust her to take care of me and my hair and give me the look I was going for!
The first color service was amazing! She gave me this beautiful vibrant violet color all over my head & I felt so confident walking out into the world with purple hair! From that day on my hair has never been a natural color!
Through my hair journey with Jenny, we’ve done almost every color you can think of! From purple to blues, greens, reds, pinks & even orange! Jenny has let me express my personality and confidence through all these fun colors!
She has a way of making all these fun colors look & feel natural on me! And even with fading and some root outgrowth I still am receiving compliments almost daily on my hair!”
My approach to doing hair is a little different than other hairstylists
● I don’t take your hair for granted or discount the past experiences you may have had with it. I always do hair from a place of empathy so that you feel seen, heard, and happy.
● I am educated in the science of your hair so I put careful consideration into a cut, color, and style while keeping your lifestyle in mind.
● I love to do the heavy lifting when you are having trouble communicating your hair goals to make sure your expected outcome is achieved.
